In a slump? Reach your Highest Potential..

When I first came across ‘Highest Potential’ Essential Oil Blend from Young Living I was skeptical of it its powers to make me excel.  I was advised from a fellow oiler that putting ‘Motivation’ blend on one foot and ‘Highest Potential’ on the other would work wonders on my focus and ability to achieve my goals.  At first, I DESPISED the aroma of the oil.  It reminded me of a perfume my Grandmother used to buy for me at Christmastime from Avon.  While the aroma brought back these lovely memories, it definitely was not my favorite smell.

After going through a period of feeling a bit drained and unmotivated, I decided to try the oil.  I slathered my feet with a couple drops (NEAT/undiluted) and went to sleep.  The next day I felt better – completed some items on my task list and overall just felt a bit more motivated.  I tried it again the next night and the next day I was off to the races!  This oil is amazing I thought!  Since I felt back in my groove, I did not apply again for another week or so.  When I feel down, I apply it — it helps me and I actually LOVE and CRAVE the aroma from this amazing blend now.

Like I said, at first I was skeptical that the naming convention of some of the oil blends were just a marketing scheme and could not actually do what they imply.  Then I thought my mind was playing tricks on me – like it was a placebo effect.  BUT I am here to say that there is science behind this and that this oil has truly brought out my Highest Potential.  I use it when I am facing a challenging day or just need an extra boost.

Skin, Sunscreen & Health

Our skin is the largest organ of our body and it is our first line of defense against harmful toxins in the air and water.  It readily absorbs toxins into our blood stream when not protected.

Many years ago, I attended Massachuetts College of Art and majored in Painting.  I painted with Oils and loved to use my gloveless hands to help my paintings along.  It was part of my ‘skill’, a swipe with my pinky, a dab with my thumb and as a result, my hands aged.  They were cracked, dry, yellowing and wrinkly.  Many oil paints use pigments that are known carcinogens.  There was a movement at that time for all to start wearing gloves when painting.  I did, reluctantly..  It just didn’t feel the same.  For me painting is a type of unconstrained freedom, an emotional release and to feel latex gloves on my hands took some of the  enjoyment away.

We have been told over the years that the sun is bad for our skin.  Our solution has been to wear the strongest sunscreen or sunblock, wear hats and sunglasses.  My son’s Dr. told us that his ‘freckles’ are sun damage.  My husband is obsessed about slathering him in sunblock even the ones we know are now toxic.  It is a constant battle.  I show him the studies proving that ‘freckles’ or Angel Kisses as I like to call them are in fact genectic and explain to him why they are misconstrued to be sun damage.  After all – I am covered in freckles too and I grew up in the North East — not very much sun exposure but around the age of 5, I still developed freckles.

Studies now show that the chemicals in sunscreen actually cause more cancer than they prevent.  As a whole our society is becoming Vitamin D deficient and we struggle with things like Hypothyroidism,  High Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure and Depression.  In places like Alaska it is proven that many struggle with Seasonal Affective Disorder during the dark months due to lack of sunshine.

I am  here to say the sun is good!  Over exposure is bad.  So protect yourself naturally with Young Living Oils.  Its ok to let the sunshine in – just make sure its a little at a time.

Here are some benefits of getting a moderate amount of sun exposure:
1.  Sunlight has been shown to reverse certain cancer growth.
2. The sun’s light kills bad bacteria.
3. Sunlight has a beneficial effect on skin disorders, such as psoriasis, acne, eczema and fungal infections of the skin.
4. Sunlight lowers cholesterol.
5. The sun’s rays lower blood pressure.
6. Sunlight penetrates deep into the skin to cleanse the blood and blood vessels.
7. Sunlight increases oxygen content in human blood (similar to excerise).
8. Sunlight builds the immune system by increasing white cell counts.
9. Regular sunlight exposure increases the growth and height of children, especially babies.
10. Sunlight can cure depression.

A Testimony to Oregano Oil

In June, I had what I thought was the beginning of a summer cold or sinus infection. I grew up in Boston where a summer cold was virtually unheard of! Anyway, I felt a tickle in my throat and day after day it just got worse.  I had my heart set on attending the Young Living Annual Convention and there was no way I was going to miss it!  I did everything in my power to be well.  I rested, ate healthy, took my vitamins, and regardless of that tickle, I made my way to Utah for the Young Living International Grand Convention.  While there, I managed to stay above the wellness loreganoine even though we were on the go all day long and well into the evening..  I stayed up later than usual talking to other believers about their personal experienceswith Essential Oils and made many new friends. When I returned home to California I admit, I was feeling run down and still could not shake that tickle in my throat.  It felt asthough a respiratory infection was undoubtedly in my future.  I had experienced this before and it always ended with a trip to Urgent Care and antibiotics – sometimes even steroids. I developed a persistent dry cough that I could not control and that is when it got even worse. Pain – what felt like knives in my throat was so excruciating.  I did not want to see a doctor and again I would be heading out of town in a few short days – this time across the country. I ventured into the depths of my oily medicine cabinet and dug out my Young Living Oregano Essential Oil and my V6 oil and quickly made a capsule, ingested it and went to sleep. The next day I coughed up some green but felt light years better and so I took another capsule and after that I continued to get better.   Just 2 heavily diluted capsules is all it took!   This is my testimony to Oregano Oil.  I am a believer. Oregano Oil must be diluted (my preference is V6 Oil) before ingesting and if applying to skin must also be diluted (preferably with Jojoba Oil as it is more readily absorbed). Dilution is at least 50%. I did a 25/75 and am happy with the results.
